Which TTS voice is good for navigation in Malaysia and SG?

IMHO in SG, british is better than american although it is still a lot way off from local pronunciation.

at least hougang is pronounced rather close as a local.
american voice pronounce it as HOE - Gang. ah hoe's gang???

Daniel-British English TTS voice is best among the lot IMHO.gets most names decently correct or at least pronounced in a way that can be understood. the aussies come 2nd place and the americans last.

For me I think Australia Samantha TTS is first and British English second but not Daniel the lady one, Daniel is Last.......BTW do you use British English in Malaysia or SG?.....

all the default female voices just grates on my nerves.

It's British English as far as spelling goes in MY and SG. if talking about the GPS itself i use MFM keyboard and text and if British spelling doesn't work try American.

NOW... you can ask your better half, 'spare tyre', KO or what-have-you and whatever 'floats-your-boat' to record their voices upload them into your Nuvi and hear them at it the whole time you drive....

My hilarious moment was when the Amercian lady TTS said Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong was "Layboh Ruhyae Duhmansurer Pah-ch'ng."

Pick a British or Aussie voice. They've got the closest to our pronunciation.

For me, TTS is there so that I can keep my eyes on the road. Therefore, as long as I am used to my own device, it really doesn't matter how they pronounce the road name. After a while, I know what it means. Eg. Kg is pronounced as Kilogramme instead of Kampung, so what? When it instructs me to turn into Kilogramme XXX, I will turn into Kampung XXX. Simple, right? The key here is to get used to your device.
