It will be a slow start for malaysia. You need a FM traffic transmitter and feed into your unit that has FM traffic receiver capability. Then you able to have it indicate you that some road is full with traffic jam, road block or flood.

I hope it will come true! The tag line use by some GPS seller - "by using GPS, you journey will cut short, save fuel" will really come true.
Common sense is instinct, and enough of it is genius

Traffic Message Channel (TMC) is a technology for delivering traffic and travel information to drivers. It is typically digitally coded using the FM-RDS system on conventional FM radio broadcasts. It can also be transmitted on DAB or satellite radio. It allows silent delivery of high quality accurate, timely and relevant information, in the language chosen by the user and without interrupting normal services. Services, both public and commercial, are now operational in many European countries. When data is integrated directly into a navigation system, this gives the driver the option to take alternative routes to avoid traffic incidents.

Some of the newly nuvi model support this TMC function.

But my Nuvi 200w not support

We propose this to Ministry with the help of ITIS http://www.itis.com.my and RTM.

BTW, MFM users should get FREE lifetime subscribtion, for participating as a project's "guinea pig":) and I am willingly to volunteer to be part of this project.

If this project becomes popular, many Malaysian's or Singaporean will purchases GTM/TMC reciever and Garmin GPSr. Wah... Manyak untung jual GPS, Oooo...
