Edgar,

Thanks. I see the logic now. One have to drill down the Menu to find Singapore Lta.... Wow, once inside, the search for Postal Code is super quick.

Not at all... bonafide IDs from a Gamin unit incl. transponder (GMPC) are included too like mine is, hence, I rec'd two unlock codes for both separate IDs respectively.

Esp. with the Postal codes..this is Awesome!!!

I also received 2 unlock codes (many thanks EastGear!) - 1 for my 10X, and the other for my GMXT SD card.

GMXT error msg:

Mine have no problems - no crash when selected BACK

I took out all these files from Garmin Nuvi (E:) drive:

fs_image.ver
GarminDevice.xml
gmap78ef.rra
gmapbmap.img
gmapbmap.sum
gmapprom.img
gmapprom.sum
gmapprom1.img
gmapprom1.unl
gmapsupp.img
GUPDATE.GCD
maxdesk.ini2
MySin.img
PP11Thumbs.ptn

Now on my E: drive i'm left with these files & folders:

Folders:

Then i sent eastgear a PM to get the unlock code for their SLA/MFM & got it install on my 760 memory card.

Now everything seem fine without error message when startup.

Map info now shows:
GmapTool All
[1] http://www.eastgear.com/garmin

MFM POI v1.63
[1] http://www.eastgear.com/garmin

MFM Road POI v1.63
[1] http://www.eastgear.com/garmin

Singapore Land Authority/EastGear Pte Ltd
[1] http://www.eastgear.com/garmin

Everything seems fine now but dunno wat could be missing with the files i've taken out in E: Drive
Later gonna go do a road test to c if GPS is working or not  1 thing i discover thou is dat in the Map Info, i can't seem to uncheck any of the EastGear files...Hmmm...

Looks like you're still having most of the maps that you had to do the backup. :-'

I suggest you put back all files to Garmin Nuvi(E), do check again that no file of the same name is there which will be over written.
Your SLA/Eastgear maps in storage card should be OK now.

All the best !
Finally found out wat's causing the "can't unlock map" error message. It's the gmapprom.img file. Long process to find out. I put everything back & delete 1 by 1 till the error message is gone

Can you try to BACK all the way out of the Address search menu. It should be on the second or third BACK.
If your system don't crash, I have to leave with the problem and stick with limited postal codes using MFM version.
:frus:
By the way, I don't have problem using MFM v1.63 Lite on my unit and the Address search function works very well. I have to use POI - Spell Name search instead for postal codes search.

Eastgear maps are locked to SD Card. It wont work if u are not using the original SD card (to store the maps) provided by them.

No problem at all by using Back to go all the way back to the Home page.

This SLA/MFM map has the complete postal code of Spore.

Really? Where did u download their MFM-SLA maps?

As I have bought my nuvi from Eastgear, I have their member's download access therefore not aware that they have actually provided free download to everybody now.
