Miss the train... #-o

But since you've included your name in the list before it ends,
You might want to try requesting again base on this fact/rule.

Good luck !

I think the issue here is because 30th June 2009 is over and done (end date for mfm users).
Therefore for users like us who do not have an EastGear account (didn't buy our gps unit from EastGear), the free issue of SLA is over :( and our access has been terminated.
Wonder if EastGear could kindly confirm and not let all of us eagerly wanting =P~ and waste time trying our luck. :ko:
Thanks

I suspect that the reason why EastGear does not further announce the exact location of the updated SLA-MFM maps is to prevent the map from being unlocked and then shared out on other forums.

So guys, please be responsible and do not share out the map to another forum. If that continues to happen, EG might no longer share the latest maps and all of us will suffer. As what someone on this forum has pointed out, we cannot afford to mess up with SLA.

I completely missed the thread on the SLA offer for MFM members. Hopefully Eastgear will re-open the offer again soon!

Dear all,

I have managed to have my GMXT (running on a Windows Mobile PDA phone) to run both the latest MFM map (version 1.66) and the earlier version of EastGear's SLA-MFM map (with the mapsets of the earlier MFM version disabled) at the same time, so we can enjoy the latest version of MFM map and the Singapore postal code searching capability of the EastGear's SLA map, without having to wait for EastGear to come up with the latest combined version of SLA-MFM maps.

This is what you need to do, provided that you are running GMXT on a WM PDA phone:

(1) Load the previous version of EastGear's SLA-MFM map that you have (with the unlock code provided by EastGear) as gmapsupp.img and gmapsupp.unl.

(2) Go to Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets > MapSource

(3) Untick all mapsets related to the earlier version of MFM (Malfreemaps, MFM POI, MFM Road POI) except the Singapore Land Authority/EastGear Pte Ltd mapset (leave it ticked).

(4) Load the latest version of MFM map (currently v1.66) as gmapprom.img.

You will then have these files on your device:

gmapprom.img - latest MFM version (currently MFM v1.66)
gmapsupp.img - earlier version of SLA/MFM map with MFM mapsets disabled
gmapsupp.unl - the unlock code you receive from EastGear

Do not load the latest version of MFM map before you disable/untick the MFM mapsets of the EastGear's SLA/MFM map that you have, otherwise it will cause GMXT to crash with some kind of memory allocation error.

Note that the above is only applicable to GMXT on WM, not too sure for other smartphones or Nuvis.

Hope this helps. :)
