How to unlock maps??

Copy & paste Unlock Codes into Notepad, and save as GMAPSUPP.UNL (in Folder Options > View > Untick Hide extensions for known file types, so that you can change the file extension to UNL, otherwise it will be named as GMAPSUPP.UNL.TXT). Then place both GMAPSUPP.IMG & GMAPSUPP.UNL in \Garmin folder in device/data card.

Alternatively, use GMapTool to insert Unlock Codes into GMAPSUPP.IMG (GUI GMapTool's write command).

Got the sla-mfm1.62.zip (and the map comes in gmapsupp.img filename) and unlock code from Eastgear. A question though. If i wish to retain the original MFM map (which also has the same filename of gmapsupp.img) on the gps unit, what do i need to do?

What i mean is 2 have the 2 files sitting in the GPS - not one on GPS and the another one on the memory card. Thanks
