As this is the SLA-MFM v1.62, where should we download future updates, eg. SLA-MFM v1.63? Will it be announced & a separate thread will keep track on the updates?

Dear all,

The file which EastGear releases is a combination of 2 files, the official MFM and our SLA map. You can put the EG map into a SD card so that the primary map would still be the one which resides in the ROM of the device. i.e. put the latest MFM map in the ROM.

To prevent search and display of duplicate POIs, you can under Map Info (for Nuvi), uncheck the MFM layers in our combined file (leave the SLA layer checked).

While EastGear will be releasing our combined map in sync with the official MFM release, it would be better if you could download the official MFM map (as you can customise it according to your needs).

Got the sla-mfm1.62.zip (and the map comes in gmapsupp.img filename) and unlock code from Eastgear. A question though. If i wish to retain the original MFM map (which also has the same filename of gmapsupp.img) on the gps unit, what do i need to do?

What i mean is 2 have the 2 files sitting in the GPS - not one on GPS and the another one on the memory card. Thanks
