Postby blackhorn » Mon Jun 20, 2011 4:36 pm

Faulty GPS leads to edge of cliff

Postby yoladu » Wed Jun 22, 2011 10:43 am

Nanyang Siang Pau reported that faulty GPS (global positioning system) led a group of mountain climbers to the edge of a cliff at the 914m Datong Mountain in Taiwan.

The group of 10 started their climb last Saturday.

On their way back, the GPS led them down an old road which abruptly ended at the edge of the cliff.

They said that although they noticed the road becoming narrower and smaller, they continued on their journey until they almost fell into the ravine.

The group called the police and were rescued.
