Sukacita dimaklumkan bahawa laluan dari Persimpangan Ajil (Pakej 10) ke Persimpangan Telemung (Pakej 10) telah dibuka kepada awam bermula pada hari ini 18hb Mei 2012 (Jummaat). Perasmian pembukaan laluan ini telah disempurnakan oleh Ketua Pengarah Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia, Y.B. Dato' IR Hj. Ismail bin Md. Salleh bertempat di kawasan Plaza Tol Ajil pagi tadi.
Sementara itu, laluan Persimpangan Kijal (Pakej 5A) hingga Persimpangan Kerteh (Pakej 6) juga turut dibuka kepada awam, namun perasmian pembukaan oleh Pengarah Pembinaan Projek Lebuhraya Pantai Timur Fasa 2 akan diadakan pada Jun depan.
