Just received the news from GDACS.

Red earthquake alert (7M,depth:229.4km) in Myanmar (M”ng Hai) 24/3 13:55UTC, Pop100km:1.1m http://www.gdacs.org - JRC‏

On 3/24/2011 1:55:36 PM UTC (about 20:35h local time) an earthquake of magnitude 7 occurred in the highly populated region of Shan State in Myanmar. The nearest populated places are: M?ng Hai (16km), Wan Ai-hsam (15km), Wa Nai-ng?nsumkan (18km), Wan Hw?-sai-kao (19km), Wan Tong (5km), Wan Pa-pu (5km), Pang Nam-het (11km), Wan Ta-ma (12km), Wan Mu-hs? Hsensawmawng (11km), Wan Hkang Ho-paw (17km). The closest civilian airport is Tachilek (47km).

This is earthquake occurs deep into the earth>... should not cause major damage. Hope this is the case.
