That's why I bought a Dell Studio XPS16 with full service/warranty coverage.... 2 weeks later I poured 1/2 can of Beer onto the Keyboard! Called Dell service and they have a guy in my office 2 days later to change my Keyboard, Arm rest/Touch pad, Motherboard, CPU heat sink assembly and Front display LED board with absolutely no question asked! Two hours later it was up and running.... This is service at its best.... good work Dell Computer.

Yes, iPhone... will be good too.

p/s... beer in keyboard stinks... don't try it at home... and don't ask me why I offer it beer....

You have home ground advantage, Dell is in your backyard ..... here I have to pay for it to be shipped there and back :(

I believe bro moeyhc took up the CompleteCover warranty from Dell which covers accidental damage (whether in MY or SG). If he didn't, accidental damage is not covered under normal warranty and would have to be paid for, and this includes drinking beer.

With service like that... they are lucky to still have an office for you to look at... it's a matter of time someone shuts it down.... #-o

Sometimes you just need to give them a good big "F"....

My last experience with them is when i screw up my Nokia 6600(the old symbian version), i install so many application on it until the SD card went dead, and the phone cannot power on, i went to the service center and demand an exchange for a new SD card, they told me the SD card is a third party product so not inclusive in the warranty, i told them that not my problem as the card comes with the phone and they should be responsible and i want a replacement... ...after some heat exchange, they LL give me a new SD card and restore my phone to original setting...

Luckily they did not ask what i install....  :-#

:x after all the hu n ha.... all I need to do is load my N95 SD card into another Symbian phone and transfer the data to my 5800XM.... it is as simple as that. The level of Nokia help line is really low or close to useless. ANY NOKIA guys out there I'm telling that your online help line is useless!!! PM me your email address and I'll email all my correspondence to you. You be the judge.... :tease:

actually.. i was using n95 before i switched to the tube..

to transfer things is very easy, and the method you used is not correct. You cannot restore backup files from the n95 directly to 5800.. it doesnt work and as nokia so nicely pointed out.

however i am surprised nokia did not supply you with the solution.

there is a software in 5800 called nokia switch. there is a similar application in the n95 which i used to transfer my data from my trustee old 6680 to n95 back then.

anyhow, nokia switch can be found here: Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Data transfer > Switch, on your nokia 5800.

switch both BT on, run switch on your 5800, it will start to scan BT for your n95.. connect it.. 5800 will install an app on your n95.. accept it on ur n95.. and select what you want to transfer in the 5800.. select ok.. then wait about 2-3 minutes.. viola..

i transfered my contacts, messages, settings (not all settings la due to compatibility issues), 3G/Edge settings etc.. even pictures, files and documents on device memory (those not on sd card) are transfered.

give it a try.. it worked for me.

alternatively, head out to nokia's website for their guide (i didnt read through the website.. looks complicated.. but in actual fact is real simple.. OR you can read it up on your users manual.)

the link is here: http://europe.nokia.com/support/product ... kia-switch

Thanks Bro vash_h,

That's what I did... transfer using Bluetooth.... Those suckers at Nokia gave me fairy tales of compatibilities between the two phones and later change story to otherwise. They don't even know their own products. I was very polite in all my mails until the last few where I told them off 'politely'. I have to ask specific question like "tell me if I load the backup.arc file to another N95 and then sync it to PC Suite can the data be restored to the 5800? ANSWER Yes or No".... I cannot find "stupider" question to define my problem and present it to the not so smart Nokia Consultants.

Having good and intelligent R&D engineers for products development is good... but you need reasonably good After Sales and Service to survive.

My Next Mobile Phone May No Be A Nokia...
