actually there is a big different about garmin on nuvi comparable for garminXT.
Garmin on nuvi is running proprietary garmin OS, unix-like engine, running fast and very good indeed.
garminXT running on winCE OS based, running slow and some lagging, its not too good..
actually GarminXT is Garmin PDA version, running on win Mobile Phone, someone had hack it from PDA and patch to winCE PND based. i think, currently garmin was stop for develop XT version cause a lot of copyright infringement.. :nutz:

Hi,

I've managed to download the full Oz map from gpsoz, patched it using patchIMG, and created a gmapsupp.img file. Stock Nuvi 205 did come with the general map of Melbourne (key places are there, yes, with 1-2 main highways but nothing else)
So I've copied and pasted the file to Garmin folder and yes, the Oz map can be seen now, BUT when I tried to simulate the route e.g. point a - point b, it seems that it runs without referring to the map (junctions are visible, but movements are not on the road). As if the map is just there, to compensate the existing basic map, but the system still assumes there is still only the base map thus the direction given was really about getting to point a - b, and off-road!

Or am I missing any steps earlier?

Sorry if I confuse you further.

Another thing is that, whenever I installed the Oz map in the form of gmapsupp.img (size is about 50MB+), the existing MFM map (80MB+) is now gone? I mean, what's left are only stock MSM and City Navigator. Does this mean the Nuvi 205 can't have more than 3 maps at once? Or do I need to combine the two maps, instead of replacing it with one another?
Or is this where the microSD card comes into play? I have recently bought a 2GB microSD card, but yet to try out installing the Oz map.

Thanks, and sorry for the number of questions I pose to you all.
