If it is malfreemaps, it will work, but if locked maps then it will not

Hi bro silverbeauty

i tried that and yup, all the traffic poi alerts have been disabled including MFM :(

i'm enabling it again as i need MFM traffic poi alerts, just have to live with the annoyance of mxm's inaccurate traffic poi alerts.

but :tq: to all sifus here for your kind help :prayer: :prayer:

Hi Silverbeauty,

Even the file is in the SD, it could not be used by any Garmin 255W. Your kind advice pls.
Thanks :tq:

Nuvi's data card can only recognizes GMAPSUPP.IMG detailed map filename. Maybe, the \Garmin folder only contains other IMG map filename such as GMAPPROM.IMG and GMAPROM1.IMG which can only be used in Nuvi's internal memory.

Hi Dvpro,

Thanks for your reply.

I have downloaded the MFM 1.6 into my SDHC (4 GB) card (255W) and loaded into the internal memory and it is running perfectly. Could I copy my MFM 1.6 into another SD (2 GB) using a card reader or transfer using my labtop. Put the SD back into 205 Garmin. Does MFM works in 205?

Looking for your kind advice. :prayer: :tq: :tq:

You're welcome. As MFM is not a locked map, it can be used in any Nuvi or data card as long as the map is using the correct IMG map file name and within \Garmin folder. For Nuvi's internal memory, recognizable IMG map file names are GMAPSUPP.IMG, GMAPPROM.IMG and GMAPPROM1.IMG. As for data card, recognizable IMG map file name is GMAPSUPP.IMG. Also take care not to replace any file before doing a backup, because replaced file will be overwritten.

I think, it's for traffic congestion. But there is no such service here.
