Hi there,

I've just gotten here from Europe with my Garmin Nuvi 3490LT, with maps of Europe one it. Can i use these free maps by following the installation guide, or is the device required to have SG maps on it before I start?
Any links to the correct installation procedure, and any help is greatly appreciated,

Download our installer ( CGS compiled version ) from our download page
Go buy a SD card
Create a sub-directory in SD card /garmin
Run our installer to create a map file name gmapsupp.img
Copy this file into SD card/garmin directory
That's it.

Is there any reason why I'm not able to search for locations using their zip/postal codes?
It just does not seem to be an option. Furthermore, even if I search for addresses, some of the building numbers do not appear.
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
