First off you guys are doing a fantastic job with the Maps - I have not been able to contribute for want of trying as every obscure track has diligently found its way into your maps before I can set foot there.

Anyway here is a 'Newbie' question:

The Garmin 40LM can hold 6 maps at anyone time. Seems a waste to have the Navteq NT2012.20, MSM NT2012.20, MFM 2012.20 and MFM 120816 on the same device though only one may be active at any one time.

I could try out each map individually and decide which to use but thats reinventing the wheel. Anybody has any suggestions or I guess the biased answer would be to use the MFM 120816 with JCVs from one of the other maps. Each map must have its own strengths for all 3 to exist though end of the day they all have the same roots ;-)

Regards,

This is like asking Canon or Nikon.. Honda or Toyota Hybrids..... is better... #-o

I use the Garmin NT2012.20 which has MfM map data + the JCV most of the time. The down side is the older map data used on this map. Hence, I've to switch over to our weekly map if I need to find up to date stuff. I also use MsM for this purpose. We Malaysian are spoil for choices for GPS Maps to a point where making a decision to use which map becomes a problem.... this won't happen if we need to pay for it... how many maps would you buy?... :D
