Map for Garmin NUVI 52 LM

Hi, everyone as I m new to this web and wondering if you can help me out, where I have just brought a new nuvi 52Lm n I can't load up the Map my sd card file as it contain my next months trip to Taiwan.

Please can any one can help I am much appreciated.

Go buy another SD card and put map there as you will not use local and Taiwan map at same time.

Download our map installer via this link viewtopic.php?p=123970#p123970
Run the installer to generate the Garmin map file gmapsupp.img
Copy this map file into SD card/garmin sub folder

Hi thanks moderator,
As I have say that I have loaded it to a new 64GB SDHC card which it don't work as just wanted to know how to open from the GPS that's all.
Please can anyone help me out thank you in advance.

Bro Amos, suggest you use a smaller capacity card as the Nuvi might not support a 64G SDHC. Try a 8G and follow the procedure I mentioned in my earlier respond and see how it goes.

I believe this model does not support maps on external SD card; I have this problem in the earlier 40LM model. If incorrect, someone please correct me.

BTW, shouldn't this be in the GPS Devices section where there is already a 52LM thread.

Hi Everyone,

As Moderator say to use a smaller sd card, where I have try many from 8 GB to 2 GB and it doesn't work at all which it don't show on the info on the map page where I have a older model 60 series that works perfect, please advice thank you.

You can select and download either Malsingmaps or Malfreemaps or both but please check one map only when you are using.

what the moderator said was correct.. the keyword is 1 file, named as "gmapsupp.img"
the only thing is, you can only have 1 gmapsupp.img file in existence for the nuvi to read it correctly..

take a look at your nuvi 52lm.. you may have this file "gmapsupp.img" either in your gps internal memory. if so, you just need to replace this with the correct "gmapsupp.img" file..
this internal memory is not your sd card..

just remember, in order for it to work correctly, only 1 "gmapsupp.img" can exist.. if you have 1 "gmapsupp.img" in internal memory and 1 "gmapsupp.img" in your sd card.. your nuvi will not read correctly.
