Updating Maps on the Toyota Corolla Altis

Postby sheena89 » Tue Jul 22, 2014 10:59 pm

Hi all, have found the other thread about updating maps on corolla toyota altis. But my car is the 2012 version with built in PolNav Maps and I don't think there's any SD Card slots available. May I know if there is other ways to install the latest working Singapore maps? Thanks!

Details as follows but not sure if its helpful.
Version is 2012 R6.0.30.p2
Model is HQ-SGMA-Prima

Though MfM have maps for PolNav, it is for PNU ( Portable Navigation Unit ). Yours is a custom ICU ( In-Car Navigational Unit ). Have you looked at rear of ICU unit for a SD card slot ? Best is to go to Toyota for support if it came with it.

My earlier message already stated the map produced here is not for custom ICU ( In-Car Navigational Unit ).

You can try but we cannot guarantee it will work or it will not brick your unit.

Best is to go to Toyota or the company who sold you the ICU for support.

Hi, I have exactly the same car and Polnav system. Have you tried it out? Can you please share if you succeed? Thanks!

Hi All,

I managed to update the map in Corolla Altis 2012, this was how I did it:
- remove sd card from ICU (in-car unit)
- copy Map folder into sd card Map folder
- copy [name removed] to root
- rename navigator.exe to navigator_ori.exe
- rename [name removed] to navigator.exe
- insert sd card back to ICU
- Start navigation program
- End navigation program
- remove sd card
- move Rxxxxxx.key to Map folder
- rename back navigator.exe to [name removed]
- rename back navigator_ori.exe to navigator.exe
- insert back sd card

Question to the forum:
Every time I need to select the Singapore map from the list (Malaysia new, Singapore new, Malaysia obsolete, Singapore obsolete). Is it possible to preselect Singapore new map automatically on the start of the navigation program?

Thanks!

Edit: removed the name of the file to fix the problem "Unregistered map found! Contact the agent."
Google can help you to solve this problem.
