It has to be separate, the white line in the middle is not allow to cross over. Just like you can't overtake car.
If there's no police, everything fine. If there is, you are offending the rule.

Opps... really, i thought it was joined together and sometime i use it as a u-turn as well. Luckily no police waiting for me there, otherwise... but i found the center white line almost disappeared maybe it was earsed by the vehicle tire contact with the road and rubbing during cornering. Obviously many people......
