Double Savers Episode

Sometimes I had to cut the fuel and maintenance cost. The best way is to ride a bicycle or motorbike. Unless you know where to track riding bicycle is the most cost effective way but if you are searching & tracking motorbike is another alternative coz of its wide-area coverage. The only problem faced when using motorbike is the mounting of GPS device on the motorbike. So the best way is to stick the magnetic antenna at the rod of the side mirror and put the GPS set in the front pocket shirt. Brooooommmm :peace:

Most Enjoyable and Memorable Episod

To see Tuah@mfm being printed near to almost all Value Contributors. Really makes me feel proud giving a helping hand to complete their areas of tracking. :tq: guys. Even though some mappers don't implement it. I think I've been covering all Malaysian States except Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan. :peace:

Yeap I luv tracking on MTB..easier slipping into gated areas, easier to U-turn at a dead end Kampung road & no need ext antenna for a free wide open sky. Too bad after switching from PDA platform to Nokia & ext antenna kaput, by tracklogs no longer golden standard.. :(

Mission Impossible Episode

It's a trend that most Taman turn out to be Gated Community and guarded by security. About 80-90% Security Officers has done their duty well. Look at these examples;

"Encik saya dari MFM mau bikin map jalan" - Access denied!
"Encik saya dari Jabatan Peta mau bikin peta jalan" - Access denied!
"Encik saya mau jalan-jalan tengok rumah, mau beli rumah" - Sometimes access granted!
"Encik saya mau pergi rumah kawan", 'Siapa nama kawan', err err tak apalah!

Forgot to Switch on Logger Episode

Was in Mukah last week, but the schedule was too tight to rent a car for tracking to make it worthwhile. So in the evening, I decided to track on foot around the hotel I was staying. I switched on my Qstarz datalogger and put it in my trouser pocket, and off I went. Switched it off when I entered into a supermarket to buy some canned drinks... then off I went again around the block. Only when I downloaded the tracks on my home PC that I realised that my tracks was only from the hotel to the supermarket. Too late then! :fire: Moral of the story: check, check and re-check.

Kena Tahan sama Polis

Got bored one night and decided to track on Taman. At around 10.00 pm went tracking. To make sure I got a good track, I drove the same road over and over againt.

Then one police patrol car appeared and I was stopped. Apparently someone had call the police after seeing my car few time. Got a lot of explanation done before they "released" me.

That time, no sticker (MFM or MSM), so now I keep the sticker, just in case (easier to explain)

Some of the so called gated comunity are not actually a gated comunity. Some of the taman people hire security company to guard the taman. This is not a true gated comunity as the road belong to the puclic and the puclic can access the road at any time. The guards are powerless to stop you from entering the area.

For a true gated comunity, the road belong to the management company, as such, this is consider a private road. Then only they can stop you from entering the taman.

As for the guarded taman, I will argue with the guard to let me in and normally they will let me in. But, there was one time the guard followed me until I finish my track. Nasib baik tak ramai org,
