I firmly believe, given the exposure which appeared in the Star's Sunday edition, it is a gradual and deserving start to make the users and would-be buyers of GPS units to become aware of the pivotal role our dedicated Mappers are committed with and to recognize their accomplishment, being an ongoing continuous effort to say the least, is worthy of praise and admiration for all who appreciates this FREE concept of map upgrades unlike elsewhere around the globe.

So, try to attend and be part of the auspicious Ipoh event... invite others you know and if possible with newbies to GPS units esp. (ask them to join/sign up with MFM Forum 1st & foremost) as space is also limited... so hurry like an early bird.

I just read the Star's account by Joseph Loh's interview with our leading mappers, Antyong, Adil, Stimix, Tuah and Zamad respectively... and they are perhaps our captains of the S.E.Asian roads & routes.... :champ:

:rox: ... what else is there to add after this???? :tq: and :good:

Bro singawon,

Here are some shops near the rental house... you could walk here in just 5 minutes. But whether the food is good or not, I haven't tried so cannot comment.

This Restaurant Soon Yun, I've tried it before, there is a "Tai Chow" store in it. It serve Klang style "Bak Kut Teh", there are other dishes that you can order too. I think it is recommendable for a simple family dinner, prices are reasonable, of course BKT Ipoh standard cannot be compare to the original Klang BKT...
There is another family restaurant nearby this home stay. "Kwong Long Restaurant", it is also a "Tai Chow" restaurant, prices are really cheap, it only opens for dinner, normally patronised by locals. Just search under the Asian Food POI, and you can find this place.

Can you then comment abt that high hilltop in the background?
Any caves discovered in it? Sure would be exciting to stage a trekking trip to that nearby climb???

Great opportunity to dish out the Etrex and EDC's flashes too!!! \:D/

I think that rock hill is Sam Poh Tong (cave), there are some Chinese Temples beneath it. If you want jungle trekking, I can bring you guys to the Kledang Jungle walk on the morning of 30th August, it will take about 1 half hour up and down hill, we can still make it to the GG in the afternoon, good exercise too.....

Should be more exciting to venture inside and understand the beauty of stalactites while trying to see how best to exit elsewhere....? :-k Maybe meet up a Malaysian Neanderthal?
He may get interested with the GG thereafter :-$

those interested in exploring caves can consider the nearby gua tempurung in gopeng. Their "grand tour" lasts some 3 hours or so, and you"ll definitely get wet! :)
