My 2 cents...

Maybe we just want to name it "Free Maps"... then can go down to the countries that the map is about... Malaysia or Singapore... or maybe we will even have part of Thailand in it in the near future... anything and everything is possible...

something like the sample below... off course with more graphics and colors please...(just a suggestion)

Lets remove the whole indication about the FREE thingy and that includes the Malaysia and Singapore part as well...
Lets recap, review and revise the thinking all over and focus the core elements we want to address and project.

Here again, I have been analysing.... too stereo-type and obviously evident about the intentions behind all members who are involved standing & supporting bro Antyong's motivations.

Hence, its all about Maps and whoever, wherever and whenever one is in the region, can obtain it.

Thus, Maps-For-Most... not everyone will come to know MFM... would be nice but will an Alaskan or a Mongolian be bothered??? Correct.. but most is a safe assumption and remains unbias as who we are looking at, which overcomes gender and not everyone has a GPS or is savvy but most people that are drawn into this environment, would like to, want to and see & feel the delight in having the maps.... get the drift now?

Come out with more substance to support your choice and decision on the right description... thats the way to go about it. Not just one or two worded reasonings... that doesn't buy any in real choosings...

Maps-For-Most is unilateral and progressive, constructive and promising to all who engages into this Forum...

Maps-For-Most is a qualified choice for this Forum.

By the way, FreeMaps. com domain is already taken... so, we don't want to have any conflicts with propreity rights and claims disputes either...

Conflicting... as the FREE Maps is already a tagged word and can only benefit the other site owner for the seeker to end up in the other domain http://www.Freemaps.com which is already taken up.

MYFREEMAPS in stencil font and bold (aggresive and you can read it from afar, font regularly used in military (or war video games..hehe)

My suggestion : MalFreemaps is OK. Malaysia is Free, free to all mapper from many countries do mapping and live happily and harmonies in MFM until die.

Never mentioned anything about war. Conquering the world could be through technology advancement (think of Nokia of Finland), cultural civilization, intelligence, etc etc. Conquering the world through war is only the last resort, don't fire unless fired upon

Back to the topic, what we want is anyone, tourist (local and abroad alike) will refer to MFM if they don't want to get lost. Making everyone think of MFM anytime they mentioned about free maps is a victory on its own...

My opinion is that My Free Maps is much better than Mal-Free maps as "mal" can be misconstrued as "mal"-function, not so much that it sounds biased toward any one country... after all we are all brothers (and sisters) and the main focus is really, Malaysia.

Myfreemaps is also non-partisan. It also allows gradual growth to the surrounds - eg Thailand (?)

The only constraining word is "free". It emphasizes that our core value is that the maps are "free". If all are agreeable that in the long run, this core value is to be upheld as central, then the name is fine and perfect!

Unfortunately www.myfreemaps.com is taken since 2003. See http://whois.domaintools.com/myfreemaps.com . That site is very useful to search for free domain names.

If Antyong do not mind the .NET or .ORG domains, both www.myfreemaps.net and www.myfreemaps.org are still available. If yes, I'm inclined to the .ORG domain, since that indicates non-profit organisations rather that profit making network providers or companies.
