Last time when i was a RF Engineer for celcom 3G we use to do drive testing to collect signal data similar to what most of you guys do.
Most of the time its quite difficult to drive through gated housing area and often we get stopped by police thinking that we are some "kereta tarik" people.
So one suggestion to pass through the security guard is to tell them "nak check signal celcom/maxis". That way they will allow you to drive through the area without any document identification.

when i went sabah to track an unpaved highway, i was scared. at 1am, no cars, no people, no map guidance, no mfm or msm. so scary. went past 10km still driving up hill in my rented wira 1.5 . weather like gonna rain but lucky no rain.

dahsyat i tell you. i can clearly remember that experience. until today i still remember that road, its near menggatal in sabah.
going higher and higher and higher like never ending. then gotta drive downhill coz oni 1 road in and 1 road out.

i almost shit brix. no maxis or digi line summore. all signal kosong cept gps.
