My ASEAN Free GPS Map Project

Try to search "Malaysia GPS Map" and turn out MFM still at No 6 place at Google search engine.

If I am foreigner, I will google for " Free malaysia map"
See... Look at the result:

Cool! But not for Yahoo, can't see any MFM if I type in "Free Malaysia Map".

I recall doing Google searches for MSM during our first year. I stopped bothering after MSM reached the top.

MSM popularity is the product of 4 years of diligent work by a small group of dedicated members. MFM is only 4 months old. I doubt we can dislodge MSM from the top. I don't think it is necessary. I'll be satisfied with second place and I think we will be second by mid of 2009

what happen if we click the promote button?When I clicked the promote button MFM position moved to no 1, and it stays there even on subsequent searches. When I use a different browser the position is at 4, up 2 places

Cannot confirm this. The promote button only appear when you are logged in and only affect the results that you see. I suspect it has some weight to the way google rank search results. If everyone here sign in to google and click on the promote button, maybe it'll have enough vote to put MFM at no 1

Current ranks:

• malaysia gps map 4
• malaysia gps 12
• malaysia map 72

It seems that MFM does not rank high when there's garmin in the keywords

• malaysia garmin gps map 20 (Sabre's blog is higher at 14 )
• malaysia garmin gps 88
