Bro, your choice of a carpark and proceeding to a venue is not a good way to meet up. Ideally, from past experience, the venue should be made known to members so that they could proceed straight to the chosen venue rather than to meet up at a place and proceed to the meeting point. The venue should be a place where it is big enough to house at least 20 members and not too crowded to be assured of a table and seats when members turn up. One good place to go is Botak Jones@Toa Payoh. We have had a number of GGs there and I personally feel that this is a great place to meet up. Another good place is the West Coast McDonald's. We have had some meetup there too but I dun quite like it there. Personal preference, anyway. Most importanly, the GG date should not be too close - your date (9 Apr 10) is too soon and it gives members very little reaction time. Some members dun log in everyday and could miss the GG by the time they log in again. You should hold the GG in a month or minimum 3 weeks' time. Besides, holding a GG on a weekday is definitely a no-no since many of us have a full time job and have other commitments - going back for dinner, pick up kids from school, etc. Weekend is a good time to hold one. It's your call, if you intend to organise it but please chose the venue and date/time carefully if you want a good attendance. I dunno how many will turn up but the venue and date/time plays a part in determining the success of the occasion. Good luck!!

Then hor, try give more time for members to decide and make arrangement....not all are like me so free everyday log on to mfm.... :nutz:

Bro scs, a word of advise before planning GG

1. Give advance notice. Plan at least with 1 month as most of us have families and have commitments during weekends / evenings
2. Provide location ie.. GPS co-ordinates, address etc... so late comers who do not come at given time due to commitments can find place
3. We all drive or take public transport. Try to ensure place has ample parking ( preferable free  ) and public transport is available nearby ( nice to have but not must have )
4. Recommended place can accommodate up to 10-20pax and does not disrupt normal business of owner ( we have some regular haunts like : BotakJones Toa Payoh, West Coast Mcdonalds, Kallang Mcdonalds / KFC, Ah Chaing's Porridge@Geylang, HappyKampong@Sembawang, Charlie's Corner@Changi Village etc..... )
5. Good Food or at least finger food availability with nice to have bonus like beer but not a must have
6. Power point for gadgets ... nice to have

Some feedback about BJ@TP. From the last GG there, the foodcourt people (not BJ people) show much displeasure at our presence. We occupied the side table so that we can join the tables together without blocking the walkway, and they complain that they need to take things from their storeroom and we are too near the storeroom door. We suggested using the tables one row away, but they said it will block the walkway. Not so pleasant. They were not friendly at all.

But the GG itself was fantastic. Long discussions, etc. Met new friends. Also, it was the first (and only) GG I attended in Singapore. :)
