Not that mappers are not willing to conduct classes but when we try to organize, there will be guys who cannot make the date and time of the class. And to be frank, many of those who attended usually didn't contribute any maps in return.

Experience tells me that those who are very enthusiastic about mapping WILL slowly find their way. We have a few new mappers helping out MFM (sabelt, Ghz, 76topoguy). Anyone who is interested can just start playing with GPSMapedit and ask questions.

How about organize just a briefing session on Mapedit. Just to understand the basic function of Mapedit and some Q&A after the session. So that the newbie like can know where to start and slowly pick up from there. Not so formal one but just to built the community relationship.

Just my two cents. :tq:

Can I suggest to include phone numbers (at comment column) during the mapping if possible... it will be easier for poeple to contact places if they intend to go there... like maybe Golden Landmark Hotel, we can call and make bookings or enquiries too...

Any supporters??

There is a phone number field for POIs in GPSMapEdit. When you fill that it'll be displayed on our GPSr including Nuvi. Most POI in Garmin Mal/Sing CN map have the phone number field filled. Some of the POIs in MFM also already have the phone number filled. ;-)
