Additional building categories we might want to consider:

  • Lodging (Hotels/Serviced Apartments)
  • Pre-war shophouses
  • Entertainment (Theatres/Cinemas/Amusement Parks/Casinos)
  • Community (Town Halls/Community Centres/NGOs/Social Services)

Any other suggestions?

antyong @ MFM v1.10 FREE DOWNLOAD (updated 05/10/2008) wrote:In addition to that, I notice the use of general polygons such as small lake to represent swimming pool and sport complex to represent tennis court. Mappers for other maps may be using small lake and sport complex for other usage for other reason. For example for F-KLS, sport complex covers the area not the specific building.

I feel there is benefit for us to re-examining and standardising the use of our whole list of polygons at the moment to provide a guide for members who are drawing polygons now.

I had used Small Lakes for Swimming Pools because there was a precedent somewhere in NPM-R. As for tennis courts (as well as basketball/volleyball etc.) I couldn't think of any other apt polygon type (I had started doing this polygon thing in Q3 of 2007 before there were any customised polygons).

Yes, I agree we need an overall review of our polygon standards.

By all means...

We already have Oxidation Pond in our custom list.

I wonder if we should add one for aquaculture ponds (fish farming)... :-k

How about type 0x13 (Building/Man-made area)? Please refer to this link for the colour viewtopic.php?f=4&t=284. :)
