Naming

We will be changing our road name format to "Jalan xxxx" format soon. We also decided to do away with abbreviations. For long road name, there is also a way to shorten the name during navigational display. Mappers, please wait until my advise before changing to the original format.

Polyline type

0x1 should be used for expressways only. The symbol code to use is ~[0x04] e.g. "~[0x04]E1 N.S.E.". Use full stop to separate initials so that TTS will pronounce them properly.

0x2 is for federal trunk roads. The symbol code to use is ~[0x05] e.g. "~[0x05]5". You can define alternative road name for trunk road using "Label2=Jalan Kapar" for example under the Extra tab. If you do so, the trunk road can be searched by "Jalan Kapar" and will also display its highway code.

0x3 is for major state roads. These are major roads maintained by state JKRs. The symbol code to use is ~[0x06] e.g. "~[0x06]B10".

0x4 is for minor state roads. These are roads with 2 or 3-digit numbers. The symbol code to use is ~[0x06] e.g. "~[0x06]B121".

0x4 is also for arterial roads. Arterial roads are the main roads within a town. They are mostly dual carriageway.

0x5 is for collector roads. These are roads that connects main arterial roads to residential areas.

0x6 is for common streets. Other than residential streets, use 0x6 for common roads in commercial and industrial areas.

0x7 is for alleys and internal roads within a building compound. Use this class for lowest routing priority.

Alternative Name
You can define an alternative road name by adding a "Label2=" parameter at the Extra tab. Use this the add old english name for the road or give a federal/state road its common name.
