Of course there is. But if you're traveling even 5 km/h above the indicated speed limit, your GPS will be incessantly alerting you for a much longer time until you clear the radius. That will be irritating to you after a while, trust me.

1km proximity warning should be sufficient for the average motorist.

hi stratman,
sorry for asking a silly question, but will the alert be after the speedtrap as well?

1km before (alert) -> speedtrap -> 1km after (alert also?)

reason i ask is sometimes the location of the speed trap is pointing to the back of yr car instead of front. :ko:

That's a perfectly legitimate question to ask. :good:

I wasn't able to check the speed alert POIs while driving because it's my duty to watch the road, not the GPS. But I did notice that after I had passed a red light POI, my unit gives me one more alert after I've passed the radius. Of course it doesn't make sense to be alerted after that POI is passed but I guess it's a Garmin quirk that they've overlooked. :-k

Speed trap for vehicles heading towards Federal Highway. 80km/h limit.

Policeman is on opposite side of road(right of driver), just next to Smart TAG booth (quite visible from far away if you're alert)

Not that often, but there was one today!

Found Speed Trap Cam while driving toward South before reaching Nilai at N2 52.671 E101 47.013.

* This speed trap might only available during morning when sunlight block the bridge, you might not seeing it even 500m away from it.

Speed limit at downhill stretch of E1 NSE Southbound and uphill on Northbound near Gua Tumpurung at N4 24.496 E101 12.480 is 90km/h, not 110 km/h.

Thanks

Also, speedtrap & limit near Autocity, Juru, mainland Penang at N5 19.863 E100 26.145 (both north & soutbound) is 90 km/h and not 110 km/h.

Thanks

Hey no probs, you are doing a great job in compiling all this.

In fact I am pretty sure that the entire E1 NSE stretch between the Sg Dua toll at N5 27.522 E100 25.138 and Juru at N5 19.447 E100 26.193 is only 90km/h (vs the usual 110km/h on tolled sections) on both north & southbound sides.
