Dear Sobamy

Doea this custom POI-AES is only for Garmin GPS or it can be used in PAPAGO GPS ?

Dear Rona D'sara

This cPOI is only for Garmin GPS devices only.
Papago device have its own cPOI, and these cPOI would have been included by the Mapper concerned.

During my last weekend to Penang, I notice the JPJ provided location AES at Slim river is not accurate at all. JPJ Stated N3 50.660 E101 24.166 but I notice the actual AES unit is appear around 1km earlier from KL heading north.

Sorry that I not able to stop to take the actual coordinate..

Yes, take the given JPJ coordinates with a pinch of salt! :fire:

The actual coordinates may be far off, and I note of a few other cases as well. Which is why we still need roadusers like yourself to note the actual location of the cameras and post it online so we can update our CPOI file. :prayer: :tq:

This exercise to compile the camera locations has only just started... :peace:

Let me illustrate a case whereby JPJ's given camera location is likely to be inaccurate....

From the traffic light file (http://portal.jpj.gov.my/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=36), look for camera #22 in Perak...

But JPJ's given location corresponds to a junction near a wet market with no traffic light nearby! And the school Sekolah Pengkalan Pegoh is some 4km away. There is a traffic light outside that school, which leads me to believe it is the likely location for a red light camera.

JPJ vs Likely.gdb

Until the actual camera is set up, I cannot be sure but suffice to say, while the JPJ list is helpful in highlighting where they plan to set up the cameras, the given coordinates may not be entirely accurate. :peace:

PS. The other red light camera in Ipoh (#9) is correct however.

+1 the AES at Shell station on SKVE. The one listed on JPJ website is farther away of the exact location which to me is more make sense. Is it the contractor error? I think JPJ should double check the location of AES.

Seems to me most of JPJ's given coordinates 'lari' from the actual location. :nutz:

Do send us the correct coordinates so we can update the CPOI file. :tq:
