Hai all...

Im a newbie in this GPS world an my knowledge about GPS and Garmin sistem ar so tiny at all so i hope all friends in this forum can help me...

Im using iPAQ hw6515 with Garmin MobileXT for WindowsMobile and everithing is fine and ok so on...

My problem now is, when i have download Malaysia TouchNGo & Singapore ERP Sales & Top-Up Counter POIs and Extract the fail, i found that the fail in 2 format of sound WAVE and MP3...

Now im wondering that i should use WAVE or MP3? And what can i do to test it? Im in Temerloh now is that mean that i need to drive all far away just to test it? Any suggestion from all Sifu-Sifu in here?

ok bro..if ur device support mp3 ,then install mp3 la...if not, wav should ok...

Thanks for ur reply... my iPAQ can play MP3 and WAVE but in ringtones its only can play WAVE. So u thinks WAVE or MP3 should i use?

ok...i think try to install both...it should be installed in POI folder,from there it could recognise it. juz give it a try...

Brother Azli,

A kind forum member informed me that custom GPIs will not give you voice announcements for GMXT devices whether you install the WAV or MP3 format. Audio alerts work only for Garmin Nuvi devices (and perhaps the Zumo). Sorry for the inconvenience.

I don't have a GMXT GPSr, but if you can do a simulation mode you can test the route by turning the GPS function off.

I have tested out the TnG Reload POI, during my trip to Melaka.
Indeed it serves me well, and its will only prompt me when there is a reload toll available.

There is once I happen to have insufficient value in my card and I enter into the TnG lane. When there is no POI prompting.
So next time I will have to pay close attention to hear the prompting..

In the end, paid the toll fee in cash to the attendent coming over to me.
Lucky there is no jamming of the queue on this TnG lane, only 1 car behind me.
