Bro, for any error and/or new POI, please post them here. It is preferable that you use mapsource to pinpoint the error, save a copy of .gdb file and upload it in that particular thread. Help makes the mapper's job easier. Thank you.

Actually if you analyse the number of members in MFM against the contributions/post, you will be quite shock!!!!   (data from (08/05)

Total no. of posts = 79,361
Total no. of members = 23,123
Members without any posts = 18,886
Members with only 1 post = 1,527
Members with 3 - 10 posts = 1,252
Members with 11 - 50 posts = 553
Members with 51 - 100 posts = 87
Members with 101 - 200 posts = 69
Members with 201 - 500 posts = 45 =D> =D>
Members with 501 - 1,000 posts = 18 =D> =D>
Members with 1,001 - >3,000 posts = 10 =D> =D>

I leave it to everyone to figure this out.

The reason why I put up the analysis was in relation to bro jchoong comment and not to as a poll (thanks abang tuah and bro ccwong for the suggestion and link).

Look at the number of members who have posted in the forum against the number of members, only 1% has more than 11 posts. If you count those with more than 100 posts, it is less than 0.5% of the total membership registered. 80% of members have never posted anything here, which means 0.5% of the members are carrying and bearing the burden of contributing to the forum, either in feedback, tracks, way-points, serious and hilarious topics, etc...... So how to collect donation from members?

Note: this is not meant as a topic to inflame or instigate anyone, just my observation....aplologize if I step on anyone's toes :prayer: :prayer:

I'm only a member with 3-10 posts but that doesn't mean I don't care about MFM efforts.I see myself as part of this wonderfull comunity although I don't contribute much due to my working schedule. If MFM is in financial crisis I'm sure the whole 23,123 members of MFM will come forward and make donation as we care this comunity.I hope nobody will judge other members by their total posts.THANK YOU MFM...

Dear all,

My handle is tonyyan and am a regular visitor of this site .

I'm also a computer dinosaur and like a lady driver only know how to use a GPS but nothing much else.(Begging everyones' pardon for being politically incorrect)

I've tried making a contribution but don't even know how to do a e transfer.

If some one can post a payee and account number I'm more than glad to make my donation.

I do not mean to offend or upset anyone but like they say ''money talks and bullshit walks......."

Please enable me to make my donation as I have come from similar situations and fully understand the fragile nature of such communities.

It's doing good and laudable work.

Let's keep this voluntary effort going.

Thks. & rgds.

Bro tonyyan, I believe we are not looking for financial contribution yet for the moment, more toward tracks and POI contribution.

Your intention is greatly appreciated though.

This is a community where everyone is welcome. The total posts is just an analysis and does not mean we are going to judge anybody by it. I am sure the seniors will agree with me on this.

Bro tonyyan, we are not after your money, just your contributions in tracks & way-points. As you gather more knowledge about GPS, your PND and all things associated with GPS, you can then pass the knowledge to others. All of us started out this way. The site admin, moderators, mappers, contributors and retired members were not born with this knowledge in their head. My suggestion for you would be to read up on the forum especially the library section, which contains tons of information. Another way is to read through all the forum threads. This was what I did and I am proud to say I can now handle a GARMIN PND through the teachings of all members here. I am still learning mapsource, once I master that, polygon mapping, etc.

Bro johnhawk as bro keanhoe says, I posted the analysis in relation to anothermember's suggestion on making contributions and not as a reflection on the contribution of all members. Yes, you may have only 3-10 posts here but you are contributing. I also started with zero posts. The important thing is not the quantity but the quality of your posts, which will help make MFM maps the best for Malaysia, Singapore and also Thailand, Indonesia.

Well said on the above portion of extract. I started as a novice Newbie. Langsung dunno about the device I am holding in my hand(Nuvi 205) :) but many Sifus here were helpful and patient with me. Now, I am glad to say I am able to contribute in POIs, Tracks and even create portions from free international osm maps for my personal use via Mapsource. All these cannot be achieved without the kind assistance of helpful MFM members :D and thank you to all.
:tq:

Actually bro nitro93n, contributing to MFM is not only limited to way-points & tracks. Other types of contribution also count for example organizing a GG for members. I can't see where you are from but say for example if you are base in Pekan, Pahang, I am sure members would like to go there if you organize a GG there.
