This one takes E1 instead of road 1

This one takes road 1 like a short cut and bypass E1 for a short stretch

Start: N5 40.493 E100 30.957
End: N4 45.122 E100 54.491

I tested with latest map (100208) and both yield similar route using E1, not sure whether if it's been fixed or there was really any error in the first place. Can you try generating the same route using latest map?

I'm testing with the latest map, using route in Mapsource on two different machines.

I think I narrowed the source of the problem to Sungei Petani junction as the starting point.

If starting from north above this intersection, it will route through road 1, bypassing a short stretch of E1, near Taiping
N5 40.493 E100 30.957

If starting from south below this intersection, it will route through E1 as expected near Taiping
N5 40.259 E100 30.884

Both routes are set to the same end point.
N4 45.122 E100 54.491

Not sure why nobody is seeing this. #-o

I use the same test with msm map, and it route correctly via E1 near Taiping for both starting points.

Using latest MFM 100208, I still got the same result, using E1 for both routes all the way. :-k

EDIT: I think I know why you've got different results than mine, you must've enabled U-Turns avoidance in Mapsource. :-' FYI, MFM map works best with U-Turns avoidance disabled (both in Mapsource and device).

Thanks bro.

I tried untick U-turn (try to avoid) in Mapsource and now it routes "correctly" through E1 instead of through road 1.

Still, I wonder why this u-turn would affect a route that starts far up north at Sungei Petani and the road near Taiping ? :-k

I also think this should not have an effect especially when there is actually no U-Turn to avoid along the way, maybe a senior mapper can delve into this matter further. Anyway, thanks for your feedback.

hye there, i'm using garmin XT on my mobile (Nokia 5800) and downloaded this map (latest one from mediafire account) andf suprisingly, i can't find jalan sentul when i use search. why is that so? i searched under malaysia, kuala lumpur, n then jalan sentul, all i can get is jalan sentul manis.

I heard Garmins is the best for navigation, for y is that i dun get any search answers for this.

Thank you.
