Free Malaysia & Singapore GPS Map: MFM-Garmin 091012

The only way to get POI search working on my GMXT-Symbian 5.00.60 with MFM-Garmin 091012
is to create gmapsupp.img using its Map Generator and selecting
"Exclude coloured polygons" (less laggy) and "Include Road POI"

So for now, using MapSource v6.15.7 to transfer Map to my E71 will cause that POI search problem.
Anyone using GMXT-Symbian 5.00.60 with MFM-Garmin 091012 and transfer map using MapSource, able to find "Maju Camp" in POI search? do tell.

Tried this for GMXT on Windows Mobile - Still doesn't work.

I just checked again on my Map Sets, its still on MFM-Garmin 090921 and wasnt the reported MFM-Garmin 091012.

Must have been confused, trying many Map Sets all at once + install/reinstall of GMXT.

Seems like its back to square one.

Got this result when I did a search for Maju Camp, note that the Spore Map do not appear on my GMXT (E71), Not sure whether it is due ot my GMXT or MFM, other user on GMXT (E71) pls help to verify. Attached is the screen shot.

I am using the MFM-Garmin-091012 and gotten the gmapsupp.img thru the exe file. Not that certain how to use mapsource. From the extract, I copied them into my SD on my E71. Anyway, thank you by saying that is nothing wrong with my device..waht a relieve...ppuhh.... thks again.. at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel... hoping the SIfus can help to solve this.

I am using GMXT ver 5.00.50s60.9. and I search my 'Where to?' -> 'Point of interest' -> 'Spell Name' -> key in Maju Camp and I am using the MFM-Garmin 091012. Yes all the same except the ver of GMXT.

Curious how yours' manage to find "Maju Camp" when mine cant.
So I did some testing and below are the results:

In order to get the Singapore Map not showing up is by using MapSource
and select Johor as such;


and after transfer maps to E71 then use POI search for "Fragrance Hotel Ruby"(this can be found but not Maju Camp)
the result show as follows;


May I know whats the size of GMAPSUPP.IMG from MFM-Garmin-091012 Map Generator?

So now we are both using E71, GarminMobileXT_5_00_60_S60_TW, MFM-Garmin 091012.
Yet the generated gmapsupp.img size is different;
yours' 59.4MB and mine 73.2MB (both using MFM-Garmin 091012 Map Generator itself)

Sounds abit strange but could it be our PC differences play a part too?

I'm using WinXP SP3 on a Intel system. yours'?

HI,

I am using the lite version ie less laggy. BTW compiling them using HP laptop under the Window Xp SP3, Intel Centrino Dou system. Any one can suggest why the different in the size?. at least you can see the spore map while I can't !!

I uploaded the gmapsupp.img
you can try this gmapsupp.img, created from my pc, see if it helps.
( dont know of any good Free File Host, so trying this http://www.filefactory.com if problem with this download, pls suggest a better host for file. )

I am experiencing the same problem as drsec. Searching for golf courses, such as Kota Permai, Seri Selangor, Glenmarie etc but not found .
Also not found, Siam House, Hong Kong Boy etc .

Went back to map;
091005 - Same problem
V1.71 - No problem

Really need to rectify this problem ASAP.
