Free Malaysia & Singapore GPS Map: MFM-Garmin 100308 POI Dis

Postby michelde » Thu Mar 11, 2010 10:46 pm

Hi all

My two cent opinion

7** and 1*** Nuvi are not displaying POI properly icones because they are not meant to.
This is the same with official Garmin maps.
The display is smoother and that's the price to pay for.
If the icones are displayed the devices will lag very often because the processor cannot achieve both tasks.

You mean the embedded POIs within MFM map? And if so, the answer is No. BTW, why would you need to separate it?

Which download link did you get the map from? How did you install the map? And which Garmin device are you using?

First of all, it's Garmin's intentional limitation (to reduce clutter) on Nuvis fimware which is preventing POI icon from showing up in navigation mode. Even icons for Custom POIs do not show up in navigation mode, unless it is a proximity Custom POI (ie. speedtrap cPOIs). And all this while MFM (read: Antyong) has managed to make the map based POIs display through some of the loopholes that Garmin had not block completely. However with some newer models (and possibly newer firmwares later for older models too), this "feature" has been addressed by Garmin, thus another solution (if any) has to be found.

From NKVE > SPRINT > Pusat Sains, I'm noticed it instructed me to use the road below flyover...
Actually, I want to go straight so of course I'll use flyover...
But it show me to use the road below flyover & continue straight...
Is it normal?
