Re: Don't do it, I tried before.....
For Nuvi 1xxx
Don't put in 2 same map (different name) in Nuvi 1xxx, Nuvi 1xxx will hang when loading maps (Garmin Logo).
example :- 1 gmapsupp.img (MFM older version) and 1 gmapsupp 100517.img (MFM latest maps)
If you facing above problem, there 2 way to resolve it (experienced) :-
P/S As I remember what I had done few months ago, now becoz the Nuvi 1350 missing in my office, so I can't try it again.
1. Hard reset it by press right hand bottom screen & hold the power switch for 10 sec to turn it on, once the Reset Menu pop-up you need do it very very fast by press reset on the menu then turn off (don't turn on), then connect with usb to PC and delete one of mfm map. If your PC still can't still detect it, that mean the reset is not success, do it again.
2. Send back for warranty.

Here are my contributions...
- Never install a map into the unit main memory until you tested it using a SD card. Even MfM weekly update can gives problem. This may be due to the download/unzip...etc error.
- If you are changing/updating the Gmapprom.img map always rename it in a different name before copying into the unit memory. If you use the valid filename to copy and you loose the USB connection your Unit will reboot and gets stuck at loading maps. So copy it using a different name and then Rename. It is safer because the Rename instruction take very short time to execute while copying a large Gmapprom.img can take mins and this increases risk.
- Always use a Notebook (fully charged) or UPS backed PC including Modem/router to update your unit Firmware. If you loose power during the updating process you may end up with an expensive paper weight.
That's all folks... cheers!

Re: Don't do it, I tried before.....
Here's mine:
When charging my Nuvi 205, I now use a Car Charger while driving or via an USB cable on my Notebook.
The Home Charger damaged my Nuvi and I was not able to access Nuvi's drive.
Fortunately, it was under warranty. I found out that electrical pikes damaged the Home charger and zapped into my Nuvi.
This problem may be an isolated case and probably should not be posted here but nevertheless one should be careful when charging your precious and expensive Nuvi with a House Charger.
