MFM-Garmin Map (cGPSmapper) Installation Step-by-Step Guide

Bro Kopi, GMPC is a GPS navigation software. And if it does not have a GPS fix yet (not connected to a GPS receiver with valid satellite data), the default GPS location is not anywhere within this region. So if you have installed a map for other region, all you see is blank or the basemap (if you have installed GMAPBMAP.IMG as well). However, in map browse mode you can still view this map if you browse to the correct position. If you don't plan to pair GMPC with a GPS receiver, one method to resolve this is to copy C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\GARMIN\GarminMobilePC\GARMIN.NVM from a GMPC that already have a GPS fix locally and replace the one in your PC. Thereafter, your GMPC will have a default location similar to the GMPC that you have taken GARMIN.NVM from.

hi all.
i just downloaded MFM-Garmin 100215,and insert it to my mapsource.i want to add new POI and i've followed the steps on adding the POI,saved and transfer to device(i'm using Garmin Mobile PC).
eventually,when i opened Garmin Mobile PC the map has gone blank.can anyone sifus help me on this?

Kopikaukau has pm me to help him on a project he is doing at UTM. Basically sometime to do with updating the garmin basemap. He is using mapsource and GPMC as his software. I have asked him to post his problems here so that the sifus and other members can help him better because my knowledge of mapsource and GMPC can be classified as beginner. Nevertheless I will meet up with him to see if I can put him on the right direction.

For his current problems, I think he does not have the basemaps installed in his GMPC or he does not have a GPS lock or acquired a satelite lock.

i just try to do the same step(adding the POI and send to device) yesterday and luckily there's no problem. maybe i'm too harsh on sending the poi to device.means that it didnt really finish transferring yet but i've already opened the Garmin mobile PC.sorry anyway..

A newbie here. I own a Nuvi 200w for 2 years and wish to up load latest map from MFM. My device version is as follow:

Software Version 3.6
Audio Version: 2.20
GPS SW Version: 3.00s

I have tried to installed the latest map by following the steps given here. I have tried easier way bu using MFM generator, but for some reason, I always cannot proceed more than step per below.

Sme it goes when using Mapsource, always stuck at the last diagram below.

Can someone help?

*Map generation should be done using the patch installer (but remember to install MFM-Garmin 100301 first).

Definitely you had missed this one.

just to check with bros here, I load my maps to my GMXT via mapsource omitting all the topo, east malaysia states and thailand. If I want the maps to be smaller (in theory smaller should be less laggy), can I also omit states which I don't visit such as east coast (Kelantan, Terenganu, Pahang) and nothern states (perlis, kedah, penang, perak)? How about the POIs, I have POIs for Penang state. Do I need to omit this as well?
