Just copy-paste replace the file?

Just install the latest maps EXE, it will replace all latest map files.

Im using Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.60 s60.

Loaded with the latest map 100510

My problem is when i was in Singapore. I couldn't see any road lines, therefore cannot do any routing. Only building blocks. Even the river also cannot be seen.

Anyone encounter this problem?

I try again using the later map which is 100524 when i zoom into singapore.. there is no road lines or river.

Have you checked zoom details is set accordingly, ie. zoom in further, maybe current zoom setting is too low and additionally maybe there's no basemap installed too, so no maps are displayed.

Is the map already enabled (ticked) at Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets > Mapsource?

If you have replaced an IMG file when installing MFM, most probably it's the SLA map that has been replaced. If this is true, then there is no way to retrieve the replaced map. Anyway, have you checked at Map Info?

hi there,

ok, i have gone through from page one to 25 of this topic, and since i didnt find what im looking for, so here goes:

this is my first time downloading MFM map cause Ive never updated("customize" way) my gps devices since i had them, so Ive gone through all those steps in page 1, except, I didnt choose the option for the installer to send the map straight away to the gps's device folder, cos Im thinkin want to just simply copy the gmapsupp, manually, and paste it into the relevant folder of my both of my devices.

but then, when i go to c\:garmin\malfreemaps , theres a lot of (.img), some (.typ) as well as (.TDB) and (.MDX) file

so question is, should i be bothered with all those other files to be copied into 'what' folder ? ...or

"No, since you are that nOOb, ignore them all, and just copy the gmapsupp.img into your device"

so which one is it ?

thanks.

For use in Garmin device, just copy n paste GMAPSUPP.IMG into \Garmin folder (advisably in a data card). The other files are meant for Mapsource use, so if you have Mapsource, do not remove any of those files except GMAPSUPP.IMG.
