Cannot be. Please check your computer setup.

The MFM file is an installer ( Not zip ) thus when you run it, it will create a directory Garmin and generate files in sub directory malfreemaps. The Garmin map file gmapsupp.img is located in this directory.

I think what he did was to associate the files with a zip utility, that's why he getting the files in zip extension. What you need to do is to show the extensions and delete the zip extensions. Not sure what OS you are using but for Windows XP:- Open File Explorer --> Tools -->Folder Option --> View--> uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". Then go to C:/Garmin/Malfreemaps/ and delete the .zip extension

Many thanks senior alyem for your guidance. I did try a few more rounds this morning but it still returned me with .zip files which I'm unable to perform "unzip" with same error message. I can see during the downloading process that these are in .img files but when I checked the output upon completion, these are all .zip files. I hope seniors can guide me to sort it out.
Thanks.

I can read the map in my old Nuvi 300. That's a great job! Many thanks to all seniors of MySgfreemaps! :rox: :tq: :good:

Did you know that your 205 can log your tracks at 1 second interval? This feature allows you to record new tracks and submit them here... for the next updated map release. Go to the Library to get more info.

Am using Nuvi 255w.

The shop previously installed MFM map for me in the nuvi, last year.

Now that I have created my own MFM-Garmin map (gmapsupp.img) and I intend to save this into the SD, do I need to delete the existing gmapsupp.img in my nuvi (not in SD) prior to installing the latest file into the SD?

It is advisable to delete the older version if they are of the same map but different versions.
