MFM-Garmin Map (cGPSmapper) Installation Step-by-Step Guide

Am using Nuvi 255w.

The shop previously installed MFM map for me in the nuvi, last year.

Now that I have created my own MFM-Garmin map (gmapsupp.img) and I intend to save this into the SD, do I need to delete the existing gmapsupp.img in my nuvi (not in SD) prior to installing the latest file into the SD?

It is advisable to delete the older version if they are of the same map but different versions.

deleting a map file will not brick the Nuvi, corruption of the map file will !!

Yes it is highly recommended to store new maps into SD card/garmin directory.
Yes, you will need to manually create that directory

I have lost my EastGear SLA Map after installing the indonesia map from MFM.
Subsequently I could no longer install any other maps. Eastgear even provided me the gmasupp.rar file but to no avail.

I am lost...what should I do?

You are wrong, actually we are not produce indonesia map.
mfm map only coverage malaysia, singapore, brunei, south thailand region (& region viet,laos,camb)
your indonesia map was came from navigasi.net

remove your other file (*.rar & *.sum) in garmin folder in your nuvi.
garmin only accept *.img map file
gmapbmap.img < worldmap base
gmappromp.img < main map/primary map
gmappromp.unl < license of main map
gmapsupp.img < secondary map
gmaptz.img < time zone

rename indonesia2091214.img or renamed it to gmapsup2.img
or joined with gmapsupp.img using gmaptool.

anyway your map still there, in mapinfo tick the map to activated.

My garmin nuvi 1250 bought from Singapore , inside the garmin folder.. totally is empty.. i do not see the original MSM map file also in any of the folder... When i put the MFM gmapsupp.img into the Garmin folder... nothing special happen. Why ah????

my nuvi even cant detect the MFM map also at the setting.. Very confuse..
Where is the original map file then?? how my nuvi works without the original map file??

I will assume you are not using MFM map. You got the correct unlock code for the map you are trying to install ?
