i bought new 225w garmin from US with us n canada map preloaded...

how to install malaysia map to my garmin?
since im still a newbie in using gps...
can anyone provide step by step instruction on how to install malaysia map?

Did you copied the gmapsupp.img into the Garmin Folder in your SD card?

Those files are needed for Mapsource, a Garmin program which allows you to view the map on your PC / Lappy.

Map seems to install properly - all roads can be seem at zoom out view (on Garmin nuvi). But when I zoom in, all the roads disappear. But seems to only happen for map in Singapore. Malaysia map (KL, JB) zooming seem to be no problem. What could be the problem?

Which nuvi model and map version are you referring to? Are you also using MapSource?

Which nuvi model and map version are you referring to? Are you also using MapSource?

Mine is Garmin 2565. Current map version is 110822, saved on SD Card

I was using 110808 earlier on, but same problem. Have re-installed using Mapsource 6.16.3 (on my Win7 notebook).
I just followed the installation instruction. Start with installing mapsource, then run the MFM-Garmin-xxxx.exe.
Select Full installation, save the gmapsupp.img in SD card's Garmin directory and inserted into the nuvi. Anything else that I miss out?

Driving in JB last week, no issue. But when in Singapore, all roads do not show up. When zoom out, can see the roads on screen - which implied the map should contain the detail. Has disabled the built-in Garmin & Malsing map too.

Got the road displayed now, by choosing the 'Exclude Color Polygon' during map generation.

What Garmin model are you using and have you done any updates before?
