Hi I have tried to install map source as stated and i have managed to except I couldn't tick the route calculation. Why does this happen? Thanks. Hope someone can help me here. I'm using Nuvi 205w anyway.thanks again

Thanks bro....I am already using map source now...the only problem is during the instalation process I was not able to tick "include route calculation data"...I just couldn't tick the box...why?...so if someone can clarify this, it will be really appreciated...many thanks

There is no problem. You missed out a step. You need to use the map tool to select the map tile.

Yup, it amazes me.

Despite advise to use the simpler way by using the installer, many chose to install MapSource and ends up in complications.

It seems the other real purposes of MapSource are ignored.

Please if you do not intend or are not ready to collect tracks and routings, use the installer. Stay away from MapSource until you are ready.

I beg to differ. Besides using MapSource to edit tracks and POIs, I also use it for route planning. It has assisted me (and friends) plan trips and know estimated distances and times of arrivals at various points.
mfm : magnificent free maps

Have you actually got GPS fix yet? If not the default location might be in the US, UK or Taiwan. However, if you need to verify whether the map has been correctly installed or not, you can check at Tools > Manage My Data > Map Sets.
