My ASEAN Free GPS Map Project

Someone PM me to know, How to do clean installation.
So, this is my guide to you but I prefer shows in puplic for other members share this guide.

If we have more than one GPS Device or we want to create another map to another type of device, we should do CLEAN UNINSTALL.

Let say........
Our first installation for Garmin handheld 60 already in garmin\mfm directory. Do copy gmpsupp.img from hardisk MFM directory to your device.

Then, let say... we want to create another map to Nuvi....
We must clean all file in MFM directory :


HOW TO DO IT?
READ THIS GUIDE

1. We must uninstall old MFM installation and STM file (If exist)

2. Select Uninstall file for MFM and STM in UNINSTALL MENU in your Windows.


3. Follow uninstallation instruction.

4. When we do UNINSTALL, Your MFM Unistall will clean all file in MFM directory except gmpsupp.img. We must do manual delete to this file.


After all file in MFM directory was deleted, we can INSTALL again your MFM Setup file and STM(Topo) to directory.

P/S : Don't do manual upload any *.img files to MFM directory because MFM Uninstallation did not delete that files.
DON'T PUT OR LEAVE ANY UNWANTED MAP IMAGE TO MFM DIRECTORY. THIS IMG FILE WILL MIX WITH NEW INSTALLATION IMG FILE WHEN INSTALLATION PROCESS.
If you know what you'r doing......... so, please do manual delete.

Hi Bro FauSham, just for your information, the below are the uninstallers for MFM maps.

I do it for Nuvi, Que and GMXT but never need to clean up the installation. I just run the MFM installer again and the settings will over ride the first. It works for me... hope you can do that too.... cheers!

76gpsguy, I know that uninstall already in MFM directory but some newbie did't go there we can do that way, just click in MFM but some newbie 'blurr' to find MFM directory (refer to my fren laaa he alwayz blurr).

We need to do clean uninstall IF we mix many file or alter some file in MFM directory. Some member usually do add additional IMG file in MFM directory and when they try to do setup again, remixing img file could happen and if some img map not so good, some error usually happen in device.

My friend alwayz get some error when do reinstallation and sometime get MFM version error (usually old version still exist) then when I check that problem, he put many unwanted img file (he want to be a mapper I think) or additional unuse file in MFM and forgot to remove it. So, I think, this guide for my fren and Newbie members will help.
