For those planning a trip to New Zealand and plan to get into the outdoors.

NZ Open GPS street maps with Tramping Tracks overlaid with 10m SRTM Contour lines can be downloaded free here.

I'm planning an updated release sometime soon with more features like detailed waterways and improved contour line drawing on the GPS unit.

Current version works fine on handhelds and Nuvis.

Free Garmin Tour Guide files of NZ DOC (Department of Conservation) managed camping sites is available for download for those planning a camping trip to New Zealand.

Feedback and lists of compatible GPS units can be found here.
