Went to the Comex yesterday to look at the 3790. The screen is lively and the graphics are nice. For the Autozoom, yes, you still can't turn it off. Could not see any feature to turn it off. I find the screen to be less sensitive than the other nuvis or against the I-phone which has a similar screen. The sales person told me the chip is a SiRf III but I am not sure how accurate is the info. Papago is already using SiRf IV in some units so
Also, put in the MFM map but the unit did not display the roads. Some comments on this problem in the other thread regarding the 3790 unit.
Some of the reviews mentioned that the newer nuvi units can display more road names while navigating. Good boy, Garmin. But you do not get my purchase unless you put in the ability to turn off the autozoom.
