Bro bisaro,

You need to download and install mapsource. Using your gps receiver, track and collect tracks and POIs. Then trasfer these tracks and POIs into your mapsource using the transfer function. Save the data as a gdb file.

I have just completed a beginners' guide to using mapsource for bro jonkuek but cannot post it here as the file is quite big about 1.8mb (due to images embedded).

Thanks Bro East, I am using Samsung handphone with Garmin and managed to transfer the waypoints via MapSource. Will try to experiment with it now that it seem to work. LOL!

One question, how does one insert icons into the icon menu? e.g Shell, Esso, Petronas or even 7-11 and FairPrice or Cheers icons ? I want to specify what kind of Petrol Kiosk etc but the canned one only has a blue and red one.

Custom icon can only be changed via editing .typ I believe... But that's beyond most of our capability...

Beri simple lah, save your picture into Bitmap Image, after that copy and paste the picture to C:\Documents and Settings\*****\My Documents\My Garmin\Custom Waypoint Symbols(your setting may different from mine), just find the "My Garmin\Custom Waypoint" folder, there are 9 icons there, delete a few of them, rename your custom icon to 000 to 008. open mapsource now, create a waypoint, you will ask to select an icon for the waypoint, click the symbol button, scroll all the way down to "custom", you find your customed icon there......ho sia liao.....
