btw, may i knw besides the maps, what else to download to make my GPS search faster? or to get more details? How to use the POIs? and do they different from the "maps"...

If it's GMXT you're using, you probably can't take advantage of assisted GPS (AGPS) so your GPS software can only be as good the hardware allows it to be.

POIs are points in the map and are mostly searchable using the GPS client software (in your case GMXT). Of course you might want to check out the custom POIs that many members have put together.

I see. So POIs is downloadable into the mobile phone, and it "adds" more details to the existing map? can i conclude this way?

POI is included/embedded in the map. When u contribute, the mapper will classify it accordingly, and put in the map. The next release of newly compiled map, u get the POI in the map when u update (delete old 1, replace new 1).
Custom POI, is like accesories to your cars. This type of POI, normally have alert voice or sounds, like sharp bend POI, try to read thru the thread.
