Came across this interesting, affordable & purposeful EDC as accessory in one's glove compartment... and for everyday use.
Should be a great spare source for powerful lighting... at 270 Lumens, thats more than you can ask to look for that darn "thingy" that fell and roll under the table... or for that rat your wife may have hallucinate or thought to have seen but you still need to go look for it around the corners to stop her screaming!!!

More details:-

Charges in 90 seconds. Delivers a steady 90 lumens for 90 minutes. Up to 270 Lumens, peak.

This flashlight will be available for shipment in summer 2009. Please PRE-ORDER yours now and be the first to receive this amazing item!

* No batteries. Flashpoint™ Ultracapacitor Technology provides a lifetime of dependable use
* Recharges to full power in just 90 seconds
* 3 Cree® LEDs combine to deliver a blinding 270 Lumens at Peak Power.
* 4-Way Power provides more options for the performance you need.
* Unmatched return on investment—lowest operating cost over 10 years

Charges in just 90 seconds.
The UC3.400™ Light for Life™ Flashlight will go from dead flat to a full charge in about 90 seconds—160 times faster than the finest standard rechargeable duty lights. This quick recharge allows the light to always be ready. No need to carry multiple flashlights, purchase multiple chargers and batteries, or have to remember to charge your light after a long shift. In just 90 seconds, your Light for Life™ UC3.400™ will be fully charged and ready to produce another 90 minutes of light.

No batteries.
Instead, a revolutionary system of advanced ultracapacitors and energy management circuitry delivers lighting performance and practicality far surpassing any other duty flashlight available. Typically used to produce the flash in most cameras, ultracapacitors have the ability to quickly load energy, and then unload it in an intense short-lived burst. Unlike batteries, they are unaffected by extreme temperatures, virtually maintenance-free, and extremely lightweight. But no one has been able to effectively modulate the way ultracapacitors store and release their energy…until now. The 5.11 Light for Life uses proprietary FlashPoint™ Power Technology to load energy quickly, then deliver it slowly, at precisely controlled levels to maximize performance and run time.

Cree LEDs and 4-Way Power for performance that outshines any other duty light available.
The Light for Life delivers a blazing 270 lumens for 15 minutes in Peak Brightness or its disorienting Strobe Mode, or a steady 90 lumens for 60 minutes in Standard Mode, before reducing itself to a still-effective 25-lumen Standby Mode for an additional 30 minutes. Its three advanced Cree LEDs, each in its own reflector cone, combine to deliver an intense, tactically focused beam with a tight hot-spot able to clearly illuminate objects at 300 ft. A wide, smooth, corona provides excellent peripheral light to help you stay aware of your surroundings at all times.

Nothing to replace. Ever.
The Light for Life could be the most cost-effective duty lighting system ever made. Traditional rechargeable battery systems can degrade or develop “memory”, holding less and less charge after each use. And they have a life expectancy of 500–1,000 charge/discharge cycles, with a typically high cost for replacement batteries. The 5.11 UC3.400™ Light for Life eliminates those issues completely. Its unique Flashpoint™ Power Technology system is rated for 50,000 charge/discharge cycles with virtually no degradation—that’s a charge a day for more than 135 years! Through 50,000 cycles, 5.11’s testing shows the Flashpoint™ system will still retain 96% of full capacity. Its three high-intensity LED’s are rated for more than 50,000 hours (40 hours a week for more than 24 years), and along with the impact-, abrasion-, and water-resistant polymer body, are virtually unbreakable. There is simply nothing to replace. The Light for Life™ can satisfy your duty lighting needs throughout your career…and still deliver plenty of performance for your successor.

Recharge in a flash.
Just place the end of the Light for Life into the 360 degree DC charging base. It will charge in any position. The blue light on the base will flash slowly at first, and then faster as the energy is loaded into the system. After 90 seconds the blue light will be solid—and your light is fully charged and ready to deliver at full brightness for another 90 minutes. The base can be mounted vertically, diagonally, or horizontally, for convenient charging and storage in any vehicle.

He is selling from Singapore but extends his supply to Malaysia too... Please confirm on this thread when he makes contact albeit by email or PM to secure your interest to buy from his source.

You may be cautioned by him not to announce or make a post about his possible sales to you resulting from the above "indirect" sales promotions on this thread... if that happens, U R advised to purchase with "transparent Sellers" to be sure of guarantee and service follow-up etc...

:welcome: to MFM Forum... and please share your keenness and/or knowledge on EDC's as it is indeed a flashy light of interesting discovery that plays as a partner to GPS units when trekking after darkness falls... \:D/

Wahhh. Thiang... =P~ that avatar of yours does look better than any flashlights ...

Some like it HOT while others like it looong... meaning, LEDS are now just as bright and cooler and friendly with battery types to consumption as opposed to HIDs that can overheat in yr hands and bulbs are getting too expensive plus duration of batteries much shorter...

Go for LEDs... its the cool thing to have it hook-up by yr hip and easy to travel with as well... hope this insight helps your choosing!!!

Feel the music of the creaming throw blasting away... it'll boost yr adrenaline in a flash.... :-' Image

Admire your collection la bro cruiser... me started to have interest towards these flashlights after reading through your posts and others in this thread. Just got myself a cheapo one for a start.. found this model sold in many camping/adventure shops in KL (with fixed price unfortunately), read some reviews, but had no opportunity to try it out prior to buying, so just "pejam mata" la. It turned out to be not so bad for the price and a beginner like me... I guess
