Economical Motion Detecting Digital Video Recorder...

Postby waypoint » Mon May 11, 2009 1:45 am

Yes, I'm looking for a portable surveillance solution which will either run on disposable or rechargeable batteries... Something which will not be a hassle to install or remove, small, discreet and concealable.

Well, why am I asking for something like this? There has recently been a spate of vandalism in our multi-storey car-park. Just two nights back, a brick was placed on the bonnet of a brand-spanking new BMW 3-Series on the very first night it was parked there. Many incidents raised by neighbours that their cars have been intentionally vandalised; scratches, dings, dents, punched holes, broken/removed emblems, flat tyres... You get the drift. :fire:

Ideas anyone? The solutions in eBay just don't cut it.

Sure, anything is worth a consideration. But power drawn from car battery?

How about an S60 phone running a surveillance app such as:

iCamCU (video/still surveillance)

SensyScan (still surveillance)

Bro SB, the gadget you recommended is only good in case of accident. It record the last moment B 4 your car collided with another vehicle or hit something.
It's ability to record vandalism is limited by its battery life.
My solution ? Employ a security guard. It help ppl to get work and your car is secured. Just joking.
(no smilies due PC problem unsolve).

Bro SOSweet, Battery life is only details that have solutions if you are "resourceful".

If says that Lithium battery will take over when ignition is swiched off, so bypass ignition switch la ...
Put a switch or unplug when not in use ... details .... details ....

I thought PIR detectors are not effective inside cars looking outwards, since the car window tinting already blocks infra-red? I stand to be corrected...
