To get the 'misty' stream like effect you need to slow the shutter speed (1sec or more) and close your (f/22) aperture. This will allow light to 'fall' onto the film/CCD longer. The smaller aperture prevents over exposure. An ISO setting of between 200 to 400 is desirable for outdoor shots like this. All subjects in the photo will appear sharp and clear with this setting except for the running water.

Hope this helps... cheers!.... Correct me if I'm wrong....I have not touched photography for almost 30 years...

taken by my sis during our october break in cameron. shot using alpha 550 on auto mode. she shot a lot mainly practising "composition", using auto mode helped to free up her concerns about exposure and settings and instead let her focused on picture composition. picture unaltered except for cropping and resizing.

I would like to share 2 pictures to showcase the Auto Focus of the Nikon D7000. I took these pictures during my recent holiday in Beijing. The barren tree branches provide the perfect setting for this kinda shots. Both shots done with the D7000 set in the Auto mode.

I focused on the wider far side branches for this shot..

Focusing on the near side branch is a little tricky as the back ground is too overwhelming. Without adjusting anything, I moved the focus to the left side where the bigger tree trunks provide a better back ground for focusing and let the camera's AF does it job.

I must say that the D7000 AF is doing a good job under such challenging situation and it does it very efficiently.

Camera settings: f/8, 1/250s, ISO-160, No Flash (in Auto mode)

Here is a shot from the D7000 using the in built Sport mode.

The flock of Pigeons were flying at break neck speed through the trees but was frozen in this shot.

To appreciate the quality of the shot... take a look at the Zoom In.

Overall I'm please with the quality of the D7000 during my recent holiday. Of the 3200 shots only a few were discarded (<25) mostly due to wrong setting of the camera dial.
