If a Singapore car meets with an accident in Malaysia

I hope it will never happen, but if it does happen, what will be the procedure? Will someone with experience explain please?

Do we have to always call police? Do we need to get anything in writing from police? or writing down details of involved vehicle is adequate from legal and insurance perspective?

IMO, if it's a fender bender (i.e. no injuries involved) calling for the police and having them issue a police report must be done specially if your insurance requires this report. Ofcourse if people are injured you'd want to call the EMS too.

Do we have to wait without moving vehicles till Police arrives at the accident scene? Or, driving to a police station to report is acceptable?

Aside from the police report, I recently made enquiries to my insurer on the process of getting the car repaired in Singapore. In the event of an accident, I can call my insurer on the 24 hour hotline. My insurer will then arrange a Malaysian towing service to tow my car to the Causeway (together with the required documents). Customer needs to pay cash to the Malaysian towing service but the payment can be claimed back from the insurer. Just make sure your insurance covered driving in West Malaysia. At the Causeway, the insurer will arrange a Singapore tow truck to tow the car to Singapore for repair.

So, the summary is, unless the incident involves an injury (or involves a pedestrian/cyclist), we don't have to call Police to come to the scene. I need to talk to my insurer, and unless they require me to bring a police report, there is no requirement for me to go to police station either.

On a safety note, if there is a reason to suspect that someone is deliberately trying to get me to stop and go out of the car by making an accident, I shouldn't fall for it.

Let me know, if I am misinterpretting what you said.

If your insurer doesn't need a police report, you could just take photos for record purposes just before you take the cars out to the side specially if your cars pose a danger to other motorists.
Now regarding your safety note question. Yes, that's correct. But make sure you don't get too paranoid and leave the scene because you thought they were going out for you, otherwise you'll be the one who's at fault. You might want to look for the egg in the windscreen topic somewhere too where people who would want you to stop and get out would throw fresh eggs at your screen. And if you end up instinctively turning the wiper on, you'll end up with a messed up vision and have to stop.

just bcareful and dont drive dangerously.. i observed many singaporean car plates driving dangerously on our north-south highway.. cutting lanes dangerously, flashing high beam intensively..

to be honest, and sadly speaking.. most of those ah bengs bearing singaporean plates are malaysian with singapore PR..
