Go with a moderate expectation. If things don't turn up the way it should be, at least, your holiday is not spoil. Keep your cool in dealing with the staff. Generally, i think many of the complains that you may have are beyond their control. They are not in a position to solve it. Most of the time you will be ](*,) ](*,)

So it you want quality service and facilities you will have to pay for it :$gone:

have a good holiday :)

Bro bayley, I do not disagree with you on your comments to lower our expectations. However when a hotel markets itself as in luxury class with luxury prices, surely a minimum standard fit for that class is not an unreasonable expectation :-? The comments as in link posted by bro 255W are not acceptable ... rude and unhelpful staff from a luxury class hotel ...

Bro Silverbeauty
I do not disagree with you on the expectation that if an establishment promotes itself as a luxury class hotel and charges luxury rates, we should expect the luxury quality. In some countries star rating is different from the international star rating. In most of the hotels across the causeway, the problem is they rate themselves certain star quality because they meet the facilities criteria. They forgot or choose to ignore the most important aspect of the hospitality industry......good service.

In earlier years of staying in some of the hotels across the causeway, I lost my cool on several occasions,at the checking in counter :fire: I ended up dampening the holiday spirit among family members. From those experiences, i now go with lower expectation since i am not paying top dollar :-# ......and also not to misrepresent Singaporeans as a complaining lot

I enjoy this discussion =D> =D>
